Mel's Scholarship

The MEL Art Scholarship was founded in memory of Mel—a beloved cousin, family member, and friend—whose life and legacy continue to inspire us. Mel was known for her infectious laugh, honest and uplifting spirit, and deep appreciation for creativity and the arts. She was not only a supporter of artistic expression but also one of the pillars behind the creation of Modest Fly Art, encouraging and nurturing the founder’s passion from the very beginning.

After Mel’s unexpected passing, the loss was deeply felt throughout our community. In honor of her impact and to keep her spirit alive, we established the MEL Art Scholarship as a way to give back, inspire, and uplift young artists in need.

This annual scholarship offers a full year of art classes to students who demonstrate passion, creativity, and a need for support. Through this program, we aim to celebrate Mel’s love for the arts, her generosity, and the joy she brought to those around her.
